Finally finished the low-poly version of my FFXVI Invictus Blade project. Textures could be better if I spent more time on them, but since I cant play Final Fantasy 16 until this project was complete, I didn't want to spend a week on them. The final model comes in at just under 12,000 tris and that is mostly because I was generous with the curved areas, I could likely condense the model more but wanted to push for quality. For this same reason, there are no mirrored UVs even though I could have easily mirrored a lot of pieces on this project. I learned valuable lessons with this project, especially when it comes to baking and texturing the lowpoly. I will likely be using this experience to update my older models and in some cases completely re-do them from scratch. From reference gathering to final project, took about 2 weeks.
One day I hope to make a sword that appears in Final Fantasy, even if not a flagship sword. Until then, I will continue making swords and polishing my skills. And finally playing Final Fantasy 16, after I finish the game I will be taking commissions again for anyone interested.
